يتناول البحث التطور السياسي والفكري للمطوعة في المشرق الإسلامي منذ العصر العباسي الأول حتى قيام الدولة الصفارية، بدأ البحث بالمقدمة وتناولت ظهور المطوعة بالمشرق الإسلامي، وتطور فكرهم السياسي خلال فترة الدراسة، ثم أهمية الدراسة، وإشكاليتها، والمنهج المتبع فيها، وأهم الدراسات السابقة، وتلى ذلك التمهيد وتناول المطوعة لغةً واصطلاحًا، وبدء ظهورهم فى الأحداث التاريخية، ثم تناولت التطور السياسي والفكري للمطوعة من خلال أربعة محاور شملت دور المطوعة في الجهاد، ثم مساهمتهم في القضاء على الفتن والثورات التى واجهت العباسيين، ودعوتهم للاصلاح الداخلي في المجتمع، ثم وصولهم للحكم، وأخيرًا تناولت في الخاتمة أهم نتائج الدراسة.
The research deals with the political and intellectual development of the Volunteer in the Islamic East since their appearance until the middle of the third century AH. The research began with the introduction, in which it dealt with the emergence of the Volunteer in the Islamic East, and the development of their political thought during the period of study, then the importance of the study, its problem, the approach followed in it, and the most important previous studies, and that was followed by The introduction dealt with the Volunteer in language and terminology, then it dealt with the political and intellectual development of the Volunteer in the Islamic East through three axes that included the Volunteer and their role in jihad, then their enjoining good and forbidding evil, and also their rise to power, and finally I mentioned in the conclusion the most important results of the study.
